Hey hey!How is everyone doing? I am doing fantastic. So last night we got transfer calls! man i cant believe that another six weeks has passed by so quickly. It blows my mind how much i lose track of time! haha. Anyways... I am sure you are wondering what is going on with transfers and why I call it pregnancy. (those of you who have not served on a mission before.)
So this is the news. Elder Mundt will be transferred on Wednesday. It is wierd to think that we only had six weeks together. I was expecting a little longer then that. I can't decide whether i am excited or not. Haha, He was definately the companion i have had to adapt to the most but overall i love the guy. He is and will make a wonderful missionary. So, with his leaving that leaves a gap in my life... Guess its time to have a son of my own. I got the call that i am training.
I am excited and nervous to train at the same time. I am just praying i dont get some crazy greenie who wont listen to me. I guess the biggest thing i am worried about however is helping my son overcome the language barrier. That is what I struggled most with Elder Mundt on. I am praying the lord will help me know how to best incorporate the new Elder in teaching though.
I dont know anything about my "Son" yet. So you will all get the DL on him next week. Pray that we will find success. I got at least one more transfer in this area. We have been working hard and finding success in different ways besides just baptism.
This past sunday we had two less active families come to church. I saw one as they came into the class! The amazing joy that came from seeing them and their family with smiles at church brought the spirit so powerfully! As i walked around the corner to go to Sacrament there was another sister who was there who is less active. The joy i felt was so powerful i had to choke back tears as we shook hands and she sad thank you. I never knew there could be just as much joy in reactivation as there is in baptism.
This is the first area where I have worked really hard with less actives... seeing as how we dont have many investigators. I have come to find that it is whats required of the missionaries at this time to help this branch grow. We have been working on the roster for our branch. It is missing alot of people. I think that most of them have moved back to mexico. The economy is terrible everywhere and on top of that... the laws for immigrants here are really bad! people get deported left and right!
Anyways... We have two people left for possible baptism this saturday. I am not so sure they will do it but we will continue to pray about it. There is also another investigator whose name is marta and she is thinking about stopping the lessons with us. Through the cunning of the spirit however we were able to schedule one last appointment with her to talk about everything this wednesday. I pray the spirit will be there to leave a powerful impact on her whether or not she decides to drop us.
Well as of right now that is the life. Elder Lee is sitting next to me and he is really good at imitating southern accents... sadly, I think it is rubbing off on me! ah!
Much Love!
Elder Erick Delgado
