So this week has got to be one of the longest weeks I have ever had while on my mission. haha. Don't worry though, It was in a good way
We had alot to do this week. It was super crammed with meetings, a fireside, a baptism, and some blessings for the sick.
This week started off with a great p-day. Got to play soccer for the first time (real game) in like about a year! I realized how fat and out of shape i am! I would tell you how much weight i have gained but that would be negative thinking. So i wont tell. Tuesday was our Zone conference. It was alright. It started out great but in the end it was not what i expected. I had alot of different views on things. We talked alot about love.
We read alot of Enos. It starts with "Self-Love" is what I basically got from the message everyone was trying to get at. I think otherwise however. I believe Love is like one Eternal round such as are most of the laws of God. we spoke of four types of love. I cant really explain them that well but it is a little like this 1.self love 2.Love for your family 3.Love for your Friends and those you serve 4. Love for all. What I got from this was that everyone starts at a different place... I dont really know how else to explain it i guess... just draw it in a circle and it will click for ya. Then just start where you need to. everyone starts somewhere different. well my explanation was lame. sorry. guess i am bored with nothing to do this p-day but ramble. haha.
There is a wonderful woman named Marta. She is so loving and a bit stressed for her children right now in there lives. Paticularly a daughter who has been doing some very rebellious things. anyways, she is just a wonderful lady. She doesnt realize that the gospel is what will change her life. She loves having us over and says she feels so great and peaceful each time we come. I want her to realize that is the spirit. I have tried to explain... but you know how it works... when something is told to you it doesnt mean as much as when you figure it out. In the end i would just like to ask for some special prayers for her that her heart will open and her mind can recieve the direction from God that she needs.
We had our trainer and trainee meeting this week as well. That was wonderful. I got to be with my great and wonderful friend Elder Humpherys. I learned alot from President King. It was neat to attend that meeting seeing as how when i was a new missionary those were yet not in effect. I love the spirit that President King carries about him. It is absolutely amazing. All in all it was good. I love my new companion.
Here is the DL on him. His name is Kyle Steven Eversole from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is fresh from the MTC where he entered on July 1st. He has 2 sisters and 2 step sisters. can play drums. Likes music alot. He is pretty chill. Didn't play any sports but I can mold him to enjoy them! haha. He has written a novel and is just full of the spirit. He has been a great blessing to me and to this area. I know we are going to accomplish wonderful things.
We have had a baptism together. Her name was Edith. She is a wonderful lady who comes to church every sunday. it is wonderful. The spirit was great. i had the opportunity to perform the baptism. It had been a while. I definately missed it. haha. I pray that she will continue to stay strong in the church and see the wonderful blessing that will come from being a member of the church.
Then we had a Fireside with a retired pro baseball player. his name is dale murphy. It was a neat event. I got to see some old friends from previous areas. It was mission wide and we all got together to sing the song "to bring the world his truth" also know as "The Army of Helaman" it was pretty Awesome! some good words were shared. i especially enjoyed a quote that was shared. "Go out and preach the gospel, If neccessary, use words." -Elder Neil A. Maxwell. I thought that was really powerful. Each of us preaches the gospel whether we know it or not throught the actions we take. I always saw it that way but never put it into a thought such as that one.
Sunday was kind of rough but at the same time wasn't. no investigators came to church. It was tough. but we planned for a seminary lesson that we taught... this morning at 5:30 am. More on that in a second. We had dinner with the Johnson family. I have got to say that this has been one of my favorite families on my mission thus far and the kind of family i pray to always be in contact with. The spirit is so powerful in there home and they have for children. Reminds me so much of being with francys and Rob! they have three girls and one boy. They are so much fun to talk to and they have one girl who can be very... TRAVIESA! haha. reminds me of Eliza.
Ok, so our seminary lesson was wonderful even though i was dead tired with it. We did this thing to motivate the youth to talk to there friends about the gospel. We did a "christmas Past" theme where we went into different rooms and had some of our old friends from real situations. We then proceeded to teach the youth how to identify when a friend was ready. then second how to invite them to meet with the missionaries. It was wonderful with Elder Lee getting into his onesie pajamas and playing lots of different characters. All in all, at the end we bore testimony and it was wonderful. Powerful Spirit! anways... that is the week. Much love everyone!
