So this week has been a good week. alot going on! We have a baptism coming up for this weekend. The weekend of General Conference. I pray it will all work out! haha. so lets see what the highlights were for this week...
First of all I want to give a big thank you to all who have been praying for Marta Larson and her family. We have been visiting more frequently and she has accepted baptism and we plan on setting a hard date for her soon. So continue praying! I know she is feeling the spirit! she is absolutely wonderful and I know that the lord will bless her as she continues to learn and live the gospel. She has been one of my very favorite investigators my entire mission. I know the lord has prepared her and I hope I get to see her be baptized.
Secondly, we have had a hard time getting people to church but people ready for baptism. haha. It is wierd. There have been some wonderful people that we have met and that are willing to accept baptism... they just need to come to church! The American culture has turned the latinos into lazy people!
This upcoming week we have interviews scheduled! I am excited for them! It is wierd to think that i have basically been out 10 months. It feels like i just left really. I am so blessed to be in this mission under the direction of president King and sister King. I know that i would not be as effective or as happy as I am if it were not for their divine guidance and inspiration that they recieve for not only me but for the entire mission.
I am super stoked about General Conference! It is better then christmas for me! yeah! you heard right! GENERAL CONFERANCE IS BETTER THEN ANY HOLIDAY! Including my birthday... Because we know that one is extremely important. haha. I dont know how many of you have had the chance to watch the movie "On the Lord's Errand" a documentary about Thomas S. Monson. Man... I was crying like a little baby girl! I thought I had recieved a strong enough witness from last conference that he was the prophet! I was wrong! There will never be any doubt in my mind that he is the lord's mouthpiece here upon the earth.
Lets see... Today I took my first attempt at making Arepas without mom. Boy... I suck at it! haha. I made them for a member family in our branch. We had lunch with them. It was fun but i think i butchered the food! haha. She taught us how to make some other mexican dish called chicharon. It is good stuff. Tonight we have dinner with the Johnson family and I will take some pictures so y'all can see why they remind me so much of the Tobler bunch! haha.
Oh so this week we stopped by TJ Max and I decided to treat myself to a birthday present. A little late... but oh well. haha. I bought a cool new watch. I wish i could show it to you... but i guess y'all will have to wait another 14 months or so. haha. I got a good deal for it though! no worries!
Oh I dont know if any of you checked the news for Georgia but there was some major flooding! some houses got completely submerged under water! lucky for us, we only had one bridge close. I am glad the Yellow River didnt rise to much in conyers! haha.
I think that is most of everything. I cant think of anything else to write about. I pray that all is going well back home. I didnt get any emails this week so... yeah, I will be praying for all of you. Well thank you everyone for the love and support!
Much Love,
Elder Erick Delgado
