GANM July 6th, 2009

Hey Hey!

how is life going for everyone? I am doing well in the ATL. I am loving my area although it can move real slow at times it seems. some how we are finding that miracles are coming our way. I think we just need to be more patient is all. This weekend was something else though I will tell you that.

So here is the story... first, there is this 16 boy and his name is sergio. He is cool, He wants to get baptized because he prayed one day and felt the need for it. His brother is a recent convert who is a little less active but we have been working with him. We talked to Sergio as well. He expressed his desires to be baptized and dragged his family to church this sunday. haha. it was pretty cool. So along with that comes the bad news... we set a baptismal date for him on the 26th of this month but he might be moving out of the state next week! ugh. frustrating but i pray if he does move that the missionaries will teach him and help him be baptized.
Oh yeah, before i forget... His mom as well has expressed the desires to be baptized in the church. We just struggle with her coming to church. We dont baptize for them to go inactive yeah? so we are setting goals so that she can begin progressing towards baptism. It has been amazing seeing all of this happen.
we also have another boy being baptized on the 26th. his name is oscar and he is a great boy. his parents are the recent converts that got baptized on fathers day. It is great because he is nine and will add more strength to the family with his baptism. pray all goes well there!

alright so... this week was a bit rough on us besides all the baptism stuff. We have been struggling finding new people to teach. We had a very slow week only finding five new investigators and only 3 of them being very solid at all. However Elder Humpherys and I decided we could fast together this week and pray to find more of the elect of god. I am amazed at how fast the lord answers prayers. honestly blows my mind every time. haha.
so you are wondering how he answered right? so sunday night we were struggling yet again to find people to teach. no one was home and our appointments had fallen through. It was rough. So my companion being the great elder he is! listened to a small prompting he had to visit this refferal we have had for a bit that we could never find at home and had almost given up on trying on them.
As we arrived we found to our suprise 4 people outside talking. We pulled up and they welcomed us! they were much more excited to see us then i could have imagined! as we began talking Carlos (the refferal) began asking us many questions about us and where we came from. As we answered questions we came to find out that one of the couples present were inactive members! It was incredible because this couple still had a powerful testimony of the truth of our message. they bore testimony that the things we were sharing were true! they have been members for 28 years but inactive for two now. Its sad really but they left great testimonies. We have their info now and pray we can reactivate them. as for carlos and his wife (leticia, different one from sergios mom.) they agreed to read and we will be visiting again on wednesday. They are elect i can feel it and i am grateful for the lord answering us so quickly. pray for these families please the last names are gonzalez for the investigators and reina for the less actives.

I am out of time. Thank you for everything.
