Hey hey,So first off, I want to say thank you to everyone who wrote me. I havent had that many emails in my inbox since the first few weeks of my mission basically. haha. I love you all i sure enjoyed all the pictures. Second of all... I want to give a huge congrats to my very best bro Jake Deklerk who got the call to serve in Washington D.C. I am so proud of ya bro! keep up the good work.
Ok so real quick I will write about the area and my new companion because i know y'all are itching to know what is going on. haha. so here is the deal i am serving in the conyers and convington area known as yellow river. The work here sadly... is also slower then what i hoped for. I pray I can help change that though. We did pick up 3 baptismal dates however so i guess i shouldnt be complaining. the date for the baptismal service will be september 5th if they continue to progress. huh, fancy that... I think that is my birthday! haha.
My companion is Elder Mundt. He is a great guy. he is a greenie still. So I have his greenie blessing to boost the area hopefully. haha. so here is the dl on him. He is from las vegas, Nevada. He is just a little taller then me. this is his second transfer in the field which makes me his "step-father" which means he was trained by his first companion for only six weeks before they were seperated. so I am basically still training him. He is doing well with the spanish. I have no clue how to teach him so i just speak to him in my cruddy grammer spanish and pray he will be alright when he leaves me. haha.
So the area is not as heavily populated with hispanics as my last two areas were. this makes it much more difficult to find investigators. So... Prayers that the yellow river branch will grow would be amazing from all of you back home... maybe even a dedicated fast to missionary work this next sunday? eh? just an idea. haha.
Ok, here is some information on the living situation and the zone. I live in a four man apartment. Which when i found this out i wont lie... i was kind of like oh man! but I found out that we live with the Zone Leaders! they are great guys. Elder Kiplinan and Elder Lee. I am grateful to be with them because elder lee is alot like my friends back home and we've been getting along great. the apartment is always full of the spirit and we do our best to keep it clean. It is doing pretty well but its hard when i am cleaning up after everyone basically. haha.
This leads me to the next subject... the apartment sort of has a ANT INFESTATION! so they
aren't like big ones but they will devour your food if you dont! you find ants everywhere! it is ridiculous. I have already had to throw out food because ants have gotten into it. It is rather bothersome. I am fighting them off as best I can but they just dont go away! luckily we will be moving out of the apartment in two months.ok, so the district leader and his group. Right now i am in the city of covington. We live in Conyers. Due to distance of the areas we have to sleep over at the covington apartment which is already a 4 man apartment! so yeah we got there last night and I will tell you what, That place is a total mess! then i came to find out that the two senior companions in the apartment are pretty big piles. Lazy workers. ugh. It makes me upset because they are both training and they are setting a horrible example for their greenies.
I have observed that one of the greenies has already succumbed to the laziness of his trainer. Which is terrible. Luckily there is one elder there who still has his drive and motivation to be a good elder. His name is Elder Shaw. He is from utah not to far from me. so, I am praying that the elders will shape up. I set the example by not allowing Elder Mundt to succumb to the laziness the other three had. we still did everything we were suppose to this morning and i am grateful Elder Mundt is willing to follow my directions.
Sorry, just had to vent that off. We are going to go play some basketball soon so that will help. I am just so grateful that i am living with the Zone leaders and not the other elders! i would not be able to make it. end of story.
so, It looks like the ragnar relay was awesome and you know i will run it again with you some day francys! no worries! just give me some time to work my gut off i have gotten from the mission. Thank you Franny for the pictures they made me smile alot! I cant believe how big Dagny is! she is a little giant now! haha. I am sorry that I am not there to play games with you Ryan! you know i will be more then willing when i get back though. haha. That picture made me laugh hardcore.
so real quick. with the pictures. y'all think you can down size them for me? they take up alot of space in my mailbox and they also take forever to load on the computer. if you have questions on how to do it try the progran ifran view. it will help ya out there.
Mom and Dad, Thank you for the Emails. les vio enviar una carta personal este semana. perdon que no lo hago mucho. es que digo todo en este carta y no se que mas debo escribirle. voy a pensar en algo. no se precupen. les amo muchisimo!
I think that is it for now. Hope you liked all the pictures i sent. I love you all so very much and i am grateful to be serving the lord on a mission. It is wierd to think about how fast time is going. I am almost to 8 months here. wierd!
love ya!
