New Area and New Companion...

Alright Folks:

so here is the DL on the new area... haha. Well I will start off by saying it was sad leaving my companion of 4 and a half months but my new companion is a wonderful guy. His name is Elder Cody Humpherys and it is his birthday today! haha. He is from Paris, Idaho. Small town near Bear Lake. He has been on his mission for 10 and a half months and is now my new Senior companion. Funny thing about us two is that we have both had 3 other companions... the same exact ones! haha. Elder Taylor, Elder Morris, and Elder McDonald. Crazy Ironic isn't it?
Ok so the area... not at all what i expected. I loved Peach Tree Corners to DEATH! I am still close by too. I am in one of the neighboring areas. just across the I-85. I live in Lilburn now where as my old apartment is about five miles away in Norcross. My home address is not important just write to the mission office because we live nearby it and we pick up our mail there. It is nice.
Right now... The area is pretty dead. I won't lie, it sucks! I was really disappointed that they had nothing going on in this area really. I know they worked hard though. You can see it because they have had 2 baptisms here in the past four months and the last baptism before that was a year ago by none other then my former companion Elder McDonald. When I got here they did have 3 ppl with baptismal dates for the 21st of june which is fathers day. They are the martinez family. Pray that all goes well with them. Other then that... that is basically all the work we have. along with 4 other investigators.
It has been hard because I left behind over 20 in PeachTree Corners. I know I am here for a reason though. I have convinced my companion that this area can explode. I see the potential in it. There are so many hispanic people. We just need to get in with them!
The branch is great. Wonderful members, but it is alot different then a ward. The active list is about 50 members. Making it hard to get team ups or member support for our investigators... Elder Humpherys told me he has not broken over 10 member present lessons in the 3 months he has been here. I plan on changing that. The most success is found when the members are INVOLVED IN MISSIONARY WORK! (for those of you who are members and are reading this.... please help the missionaries! haha.) So we have started to work... we are knocking doors and praying for things to get going.
Unfortunately the area is completely unorganized and i feel that is one of the biggest reasons it has not been progressing much. I am spending some money on some materials for the apartment and plan on getting our entire area organized based off of smaller geographical locations. It is alot of work and I think it is going to be a rough start but i know we can get things up and going here. I am excited for this challenging oppurtunity. I know the lord will help us as we pray for miracles. I ask for all of your prayers that success may come in this area which includes finding investigators, getting member help, reactiving members, and of course... BAPTIZING! haha.
So that is most of the download. It was a rough weekend because there is so little work to do and I sort of feel like im the senior cause my companion is exactly the best leader but that is ok. I plan on helping him out. I want to see success in my first all spanish branch! so pray real hard and i know your prayers along with ours will make all the difference.

I love you and i thank you for all the support i have gotten. Tell Franny there are turtles in all the lakes around here and i see them all the time. I'll catch one and take a picture. haha. Thank you mom and Dad for everything and for the weekly email. I love knowing that your safe and how everything is going. I hope you take care of sister smith! i love her and her family. they will be fun to have over. dont tell any embarrassing stories! oh and her birthday is this month on the 22nd i think.... so wish her happy b-day for me now that im not in her area.

well i got to jet cause time is out! much love. pray!
