Just a little bit of information about my area. It is a translation unit. means we translate the sacrament meeting live as it occurs. This is hard and I am no good at doing it. Pray for me. haha. As of right now... the ward is meeting in a little old log cabin in the park. my understanding is that they are renovating the current meeting location. Should be done here in just a few weeks. The Spanish work here seems to have great potential. although there is only about 5 active members that are spanish for now... We are praying to see a change. I believe things will improve in this area as we get the new building.
General Conference this weekend was awesome! I think it has been made absolutely clear that we are all responsible for the well being of our families. It was interesting to see this because the zone leader council we had this week with president King emphasized the importance of raising our families and children to become missionaries! Also realized that president Uchtdorf and President King... look like very similar people! They even both speak German! haha. I am so glad that we got to hear the counsel of the prophet and apostles. I know that the lord has reserved them for our days and that they speak the will of the lord.
I noticed some things that I need to apply to my life and teach more frequently to others. Especially about Enduring to the end. I thought it was wonderful how they spoke of adversity and consequences brought on through our own choices. It is incredible to see how those who have truly come to understand the meaning of faith in there lives will live the gospel and be strong in any trial. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life as i have seen it bless the lives of others immensely. I pray that everyone took notes and will have the opportunity to review the revelations given to them through the spirit. Apply what you have learned!
Anyways... besides all of that. The place in which i am now living was not designed to hold 3 elders. haha. but it is all good. I am loving my mission. I am having a great time with the companions assigned to serve with me. I am grateful for all your love and support and especially appreciated the testimonies of my family this week in there e-mails. I love you all so much! thank you for all that you do! Please be safe and take care of one another... don't worry about me... the lord is taking care of it.
Much Love,
Elder Erick Delgado
