Hey everyone,
Francys i think that the dear elder letters are being returned because they are being sent to the atlanta mission and not the atlanta north mission. just a thought. Anyways...
This week has been going well, the worst thing about it was that we didnt have any of the investigators come who said they would. It is very frustrating. I have been struggling with this area now for the past four months and I have run out of ideas. I am doing all i can to motivate the branch and our investigators.
Luckily, this week my district did alot better then last. Somehow we all managed to pull of the standard of excellence that president king has set forth for us as missionaries. I am glad we were able to attain it. We recieved many blessings from our heavenly father.
Last monday was one of the coolest experiences on my mission. so we have a soccer field behind our church and We have started to use it every week. Well, last week was the first week of daylight savings time and we started to play a little to late! it got dark way fast! so we all got our cars and surrounded the field with our headlights on! haha. If you have ever seen the movie lionheart... that is what it felt like! It was way fun.
After soccer we had some investigators car battery die so we gave them a jump. afterwhich we all went out to dinner together. It was way fun. It was josh and julie. Marta's daughter and

Today we are going to play again! i have been having a blast playing! It takes a lot of stress off of me and i still get to be with a bunch of investigators. In fact the majority of people who come to play each week are not even members of the church! great stuff!
There was a great member referral that we got! his name is Ignacio Cano and his wife is Virginia! they are amazing! she is very timid but Ignacio loves the gospel already! he is reading and studying alot out of the book of mormon and invites over like 2 or 3 times a week. The only hang up is that they are active catholic. We are praying they will begin coming to our church more often and feel the spirit that is there.
I have been enjoying myself alot this week. It hit me really hard how fast time is going. I cant believe that i will be hitting a year soon. Also, I missed saying happy birthday to my favorite nephew! Im so sorry bud! but here it is... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES! let me know how the priesthood ordination goes! which reminds me...
Dad can you check who gave me the melchizedeck priesthood? I want to get my line of authority but i cant untill i have the name of the person who gave me the priesthood.
What else is going on? hmmmmm, I dont think i wrote anything about halloween. I was with the johnson family! they rock! I love them to death. Having sister johnson around is like having all 3 of my sisters rolled into one! haha. I will try and get some photos sent if the computer will let me attach them.
Also got to hand off this awesome investigator named charles to the english elders. It has been fun working side by side with them. I cant believe Elder Lee is going home in two weeks. We go on an exchange every week to go play volleyball at the church together! he is super chill and its crazy to think I wont have him around soon. Elder K is doing well, He is such a spiritual giant! Elder peterson gets on my nerves alot but oh well, and my greenie Elder Eversole wrecked the car on saturday! haha.
I know i am terrible because i laugh about it... but it is pretty funny. So here is the story. I went on an exchange with Elder Lee and Kilpelainen to go teach a half spanish half english home. So i left my area with elder eversole and elder peterson. About 5 hours later... we get a phone call letting us know that they had been in a wreck. now... don't worry... they are both fine although they were a little shook up. What happened was Elder Eversole had made an illegal u-turn and someone hit him in the back left area.
I think it was more his fault then anything, but because he got hit in the rear... he was not at fault. the other driver was! haha. funny stuff. in the end all worked out other then the fact that i have no car for now. we'll see what happens. we have a large area to cover on foot! It will be fun though! haha.
Anyways, That is all the exciting news this week! untill next time on the episodes of elder delgado in atlanta! be safe and have a great week! much love!
Elder Delgado
