Tuesday May 26, 2009...

Hello Family and Friends,
sorry you didnt get an email yesterday but all the libraries were closed so we couldn't send emails. It is ok though we have permission to do it the next day when that happens. so no worries.
First off, I want to give a big congratulations to my favorite nephew james! I love you buddy and I am so proud of you! I know when i get back you will be able to show me some cool new moves! keep up the hard work and never back down, your the next soccer star for the MLS!
Now then... We had our baptism this past saturday(may 23) and it was awesome! His name was Leo as I have been writing about him. He was so happy to become a member! That day was just full of great things. First off in the morning we had a soccer game over at the smith home where we were able to get francisco and guadalupe over too. They loved it! they were immedietly befriended by the ward members who were there! they even came to the baptism that night and loved it! they said it was great to start there day with us and end it with us! I love them! haha. they are such wonderful people and I pray they can become baptized june 6. I want to see it so bad and I think i am getting transferred on June 10. ah!
The next day was incredible as well. Francisco and Guadalupe both came to church for all 3 hours and loved it! they are definately progressing! I am so happy for them. The confirmation of Leo was incredibly powerful and I was honored to be in his circle. Elder McDonald performed the ordinance and he gave a powerful blessing.
Funny story... Sunday night Elder McDonald totally noticed that he had gotten a tick from soccer! that made me laugh cause i thought of sophia and rob. haha. We burned it out! even though your not suppose to... we didnt know what else to do. haha. we aren't very good boy scouts now are we?
This week has been going wonderful. I love the work and have been happy. I am sad to think that my time is dwindling down in this area and with Elder McDonald. He is a wonderful companion and I worry I will not have one that i get along with so well after he is gone. He finishes his mission on July 18. So, Mom and Dad you have got to invite him over for AREPAS when he is in Utah. He is thinking of going to BYU but if not he is going to visit his brother who lives there.
oh by the way... the inactive member totally came to church! that was wonderful to see! he seemed much happier and I was glad he came. We have been praying to find new investigators... seems like we are stuck for a bit on the baptisms for people.
cool story... just the other day.... we went tracting in this apartment complex called silver oaks. As one of the doors opened a woman answered and a little boy of 9 years old came around the corner. He yelled out with excitement! your the ones who gave me a picture of Jesus! sure enough, as i thought about it... i was brought back to a couple of weeks ago when elder cowley, elder faiki, and I were together because the district leaders had a training. we were in that area and i saw this children playing. I felt like i was suppose to give them a pass along card to give to their parents and here we were at his door weeks later and he remembered that! He still has the card to this day in his room on his mirror! he is awesome and because of him we were able to get in the door and teach! we pray they will become great investigators although they are practicing catholicism. The boy was very intelligent and loves reading out of the bible and learning about christ!
anyways, that is all the cool news for this week! I love you all! be safe! thank you for writing mom! I will pray for your investigators too!
Elder Erick Delgado
