2 E-mails...

Hello Family,
How is everyone doing? I am doing wonderful! I had a great week. We have been seriously blessed as we have gone out this week. We had a wonderful opportunity to find a new location to find some new investigators. I dubbed it "Little Salvador" cause the majority of the people in the trailor park are from El Salvador! I never would have guessed it. I keep getting asked questions about El Salvador and I have no clue how to answer them. Dad, you need to send me some information on the country. I also need to get the conversion story for dad. I have mom's and I can recite that pretty well but I have no clue how dad became a member of the church.
We have been teaching Virginia and she is super solid. The only problem we could face is that possibly the husband may not approve. We would definately appreciate some prayers in her behalf. It has been fun meeting new people and seeing some great interest. There is a man named Guierllmo that is super solid as well. He has been investigating the church for about 3 weeks now and he is just wanting to move forward. We need to get him to a sacrament service!
Well, I guess as I look back on the week. Not to much happened. I guess i did email on wednesday. haha. anyways... I am looking forward to todays activities. It is zone prep day and we put together some cool activities. we will be playing some game shows and dodgeball! classic! haha.
This week, I will be going on another zone tour. this time it will start today and end on saturday. A whole week living out of a suit case... fun. haha. I will be sure to let you know how it all goes! anyways... I love you all! i was super happy to hear about the success in the branch back home! keep up the wonderfull work!

much love,
Elder Erick Delgado

Hey!
so.... you know... we are trying really hard to build a branch out here in cornelia... found out we are about 300 dollars short on building a place of worship. I think it would be a great blessing if we could help out with those 300 hundred dollars... just make sure you send it to the Jefferson Police Department. haha. oh... ok. sorry, chiste! truth is I was pulled over on a main highway and have to pay a fine now. I know I am super terrible and I feel terrible because I do not have a job. Franny, if you could make a transfer from my savings to my checkings for me A.S.A.P. I would really appreciate it. Don't overreact. I was speeding but it was this big highway looking thing that I thought was freeway speed! my bad. anyways... the officer who pulled me over was extremely kind. He said that it was just a local offense and no points would be put on my license and the insurance would not recieve a report. It will be a hefty fine for the trade however. I just dont have time to do a traffic school so that was the best thing that could of happened.

Well, now that the bad news is out of the way... how about some good stuff! So I want to tell you about a woman named Virginia. This story starts with the amazing sisters serving in the commerce area. Sister Miles and Sister Willet. On preparation day these two sisters went to walmart to do some shopping. While in the parking lot they saw a hispanic woman and got the impression to go and speak with her. (luckily, Sister Willet speaks a good bit of spanish!) As they spoke with her they got her info and she was just so happy to meet missionaries. I guess, she had missionaries in the past who taught her 3 years back! crazy huh? Shortly after we got a call telling us of the experience. Virginia lives a bit from cornelia and it is difficult to go and visit her so we have been working with the sisters to get everything going.
Yesterday, Elder Young went to commerce with the sisters to go and teach her. From what he reported back, it is just amazing! She has read the entire book of mormon in a week. She has devoured all of the study pamphelets we hand out, and she asked what she needs to do in order to be baptized! Awesome! This is a serious blessing! Heavenly Father has definately prepared her and we are looking to set a date for her. She is heading back to Mexico on June 30th but she is wanting to be baptized befor then! It is so refreshing to find someone who is so ready and willing to make covenants with Heavenly Father and know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true! I am stoked to keep working with her!

This weekend was the baptism of a 16 year old named Sin-ny Keomany. She is a wonderful young woman. I had the opportunity to interview her at the begining of last week. She had such a wonderful spirit and was absolutely ready to make her baptismal covenant. The baptism was a huge success with a powerful spirit attending it. It was so nice to see how ready she was for the gospel. I know however that she was prepared because of the effort loving members put forth. This is the story of Justice Barnes.
Justice is a young man, the age of 17. He comes from a great gospel home and is such a wonderful example to those around him. He is bright and fun to be around and everyone who knows him loves to be around him. In fact, when I first came into the ward he was the first person who stood out to me. There was a bright and strong spirit about him that no one can ignore. It was this spirit that has given him the strength the share the gospel so much this year.
Justice is a Jr. in highschool and met Sin-ny in his P.E. class a few months back. He has never been scared to share the gospel or to stand up for what he knows to be true. He would happily carry a copy of the Book Of Mormon in his hand everywhere he went. In fact, he even took preach my gospel to school at times to study it on his off times. Because of this he was able to share 15 copies of the book of mormon with friends this year! haha. I know that it sounds a little odd for some but In all honesty... Justice is one of the coolest kids i've met with a ton of the same interests as me! So if you are questioning his popularity... that should clear it up. haha. j/k. but really.
He said that from the first moment he met Sin-ny he bore his testimony. She became interested in learning more about the gospel. He would talk to her about his beliefs and answer questions. He would teach her from Preach My Gospel and bore testimony to her frequently. Eventually, he invited her over to meet the missionaries in his home with his family present! This was the step in helping her move forward. She accepted the gospel quickly and it all resulted from a young member opening his mouth.
This story was very inspiring to me! Now that Sin-ny is baptized, she has brought a friend along with her who is also taking the missionary lessons in the Barnes's home! Imagine all the possibilities if we were all to follow the example of this valiant young man and share the gospel with no fear. I feel the blessing come as i see others change! It is such a great feeling to know that someone is making the choice to improve their lives! what a great gift we have to share with the world!

This week I also had the opportunity to work solo side by side with Elder Self. What a great Elder he is! I enjoyed very much the experiences that we shared together. We did so much walking that I finally wore a hole in the sole of my shoe! haha. That is work! I had so many great things, I wish i could share them all. Unfortunately time is up and I have to go. I love you all! I hope y'all can forgive me about the ticket. It was a stupid mistake and it will not happen again! Be safe this week and Write me! I sure would love to hear from you all. Thank you mom and dad! I love you!

Much Love,
Elder Erick Delgado
